Christian Fürchtegott Gellert (4 July 1715 – 13 December 1769) was a German poet, one of the forerunners of the golden age of German literature that was ushered in by Lessing.
Live in such a way as, when you come to die, you will wish to have lived. [Ger. , Lebe, wie Du, wenn du stirbst, Wunschen wirst, gelebt zu haben. ]
Jesus lives, to Him the Throne Over all the world is given, May we go where He is gone, Rest and reign with Him in heaven. Alleluia!
Happy the man who knows his duties!
Live as you will wish to have lived when you are dying.
