I learn to love the thing that has to be erased, the thing I may not be allowed to keep, sand that runs away beneath my running feet.
A circus of stars, your dreams a trapeze, faces lift like mirrored moons.
All night, my face next to your mouth, I hold my breath, listening to yours.
Some day your head won’t find my lap so easily. Trust is a habit you’ll soon break.
