Remember that people come and go, and of all the people in your life, you are the one who is there to stay. You are the one who can choose to love yourself, choose to respect yourself, and promise with all your heart and soul that you will never leave you.
It seems so much of my time and my energy have been focused on making or trying to make other people love me. The unspoken belief was that if I could make myself lovable to others I would feel loved. . . . The truth is, I can only feel loved by others when I love myself.
Love just happens. We don't have to do anything.
When we do for others, we can't help but be touched by the love and generosity we thought we were giving away.
Love is always present, it is just a matter of feeling it or not.
We can only accept friendship from others to the degree that we give it to ourselves.
