Susana M. Martinez (born July 14, 1959) is an American politician and attorney who is the 31st Governor of New Mexico and was the chairwoman of the Republican Governors Association. A Republican, Martinez was elected governor on November 2, 2010, and sworn into office on January 1, 2011. She is the first woman to be elected governor of New Mexico, and the first Hispanic woman governor in the United States.
