I don't relax. I sit down and contemplate all the energetic things I should do.
It's really boring to talk about what you ate and have 48,000 fans listen to you. It's awful.
Twitter has to be about art. It can't be about banal things. Banal things and art are two different worlds.
Honestly, I hate Facebook - it has nothing on Myspace. I loved how weird and crappy and wild and trashy it was. Then there was the whole culture of pimping out your Myspace page. I remember spending 10 hours one day learning how to make our Myspace page look more like a message board from the mid-90s.
I hate it when bands change between records. They're thinking before they make music.
Reverb does that thing where you make one sound and it grows to 20 times its original size and fills everything up.
Music is about your feelings.

The Russians have been flying long duration crews since the early '70's. And in the early days, they've ended at least two missions early because of conflicts within the crew. So, they learned early on the importance of studying this and making sure you put the right crew together. Since we began our work together on the International Space station with the Russians in the early 2000's, NASA has started to learn the importance of this kind of work. And so, I think it's important work and we are not fully onboard and recognize it as important.
I feel like if people are going to go to the effort to get a stamp and, you know, put it on an envelope that, you know, it's a big effort these days. So I often write back.
The work of an artist who attempts lovingly to embrace reality, will ring false, will degenerate into kitsch.
