I have always had fun playing the game of baseball because I loved it so much.
I've done collaborations with Scott [Morgan, aka Loscil] in the past, but it is something that kind of appeals to me these days.
If anything, I don't have any intention of recording music that's just me playing acoustic guitar singing a song anytime soon.
I'm working pretty slowly these days, but most of what it is, or a lot of what it is anyway, is kind of in the vein of "Bay of Pigs". Maybe not all in the same scope, but recorded using the same method and using some of the same sounds, or similar sounds.
In the end when you get your master back, you realize it's got absolutely nothing to do with what you thought it was going to be when you started.
I guess I've written enough songs now. I've been doing this for so many years, that it's kinda cool just to be able to pull something out of the bag.
I have some stuff that I've been working on the past year or two, but I haven't put anything together into songs or anything like that. Maybe it'll turn into letters to the president, I don't really know what it'll turn into.
To me, being an actor is the best job in the land, next to being a mother and having a family and a husband. I just think it's the realization of, "Hey, this is the greatest situation in the world. "
It's basically the same, just darker.
If you say, 'I'm going to cut this song because I know the teenagers are going to love it,' well, then you're going to alienate everybody else. When I cut my record, I'm just going to cut the things that I like, and whoever likes it, likes it. That's too much work to try to figure out the demographic. That's too much like a business.
Sadness is but a wall between two gardens.
