I don't have any experience with film schools. I suspect that they're useless, because I've had experience with drama schools, and have found them to be useless.

The main question in drama, the way I was taught, is always, 'What does the protagonist want?' That's what drama is. It comes down to that. It's not about theme, it's not about ideas, it's not about setting, but what the protagonist wants.
Things have changed from the old days when movie studios encouraged stars to partner up for publicity. There's been some pressure from Disney Channel for people to not have a personal relationship with their business partners.
Teaching is not about information. It's about having an honest intellectual relationship with your students. It requires no method, no tools, and no training. Just the ability to be real. And if you can't be real, then you have no right to inflict yourself upon innocent children.
I don't think this debate is negative, it is enriching
We need to deal with the problem of al Qaeda, make sure that they can't have a sanctuary in Afghanistan and guarantee that we have regional stabilization and particularly focused on Pakistan.
