Any growth requires a temporary loss of security.
Keep your head up, keep your heart strong. Keep your mind set, keep your hair long.
Surfing and music have always been two completely separate things in my life, and a lot of people, especially in the UK, don't really get surfing very much. They think it's the Californian dream. They're like, "Oh, so you're a surfer and you're this and that," and it's like, I go surfing because I like the outdoors. In England it's freezing cold, and it's usually dark and raining and it's the middle of winter, and you do it because it's invigorating. It's like going on a walk in some remote place on the planet. It's really - it's not very glamorous.
The best thing is I can say 'I'm working' when I'm having a cup of tea and a cigarette and fiddling on the guitar.
My motive has always been just to be who I am, and play what I love- if that doesn't get me anywhere then at least it wasn't because I tried to be something I'm not.
I like to think illegal downloads only do real damage to the endless amounts of careless pop music though.
I've been worryin' that we all, live our lives, in the confines of fear
Any outfit that can't figure out clean toilets and decent theming on its own can't benefit from my advice.
I am a big advocate for having an open discussion about team norms and preferences. At The Muse, some of us like to start working at 7:30 A. M. Others focus best from 10 P. M. to 2 A. M. Create a culture where it's acceptable not to be working when someone else is working.
Opinion, whether well or ill-founded, is the governing principle of human affairs
. . . I've found out it's fun to go shopping. It's such a feminine thing to do.
