I think the blues will always be around. People need it.
I'm not good enough to be playin' much acoustic guitar onstage. Man, you gotta get so right; I mean, the tones, the feel, the sound. Plus, acoustic blues guitar is just that much harder on the fingers.
I think about legacy a lot, hopefully at the end of the day they say I was a good bluesman. That's all I want.
I just hope I'm remembered as a good blues musician.
I really appreciate when someone can blow me away with live acoustic blues
People relate to things that feel real to them. All the good, happy, over-sexed and moneyed endings on TV are not the way most of us feel in our lives. The success of 'E. R. ,' I think, is not relying on overly sentimental stories that are solved where people's lives wrap up nicely with happy endings.
Everybody talks about finding your voice. Do your homework and your voice will find you.
The revolution cannot be funded. It's not the imagination of trusts and foundations that's going to bring real change.
Christians should ultimately do everything that we do with excellence. There's a story about repairs in the Sistine Chapel. . . when some repair work was being done the craftsmen saw that the work on the other side of the plaster, the part not visible to the human eye was done with the same kind of craftsmanship that was done on what was visible and observable. And the explanation for that is that the work that Christians do is not just for human consumption, but it is also for the eyes of God.
