I'm not a complete libertarian. There is a proper role in some areas of the government to have rules and regulations - I'm not an anarchist.
The bureaucracy is expanding to meet the needs of the expanding bureaucracy.
Dependence leads to subservience.
People fear witches, and burn women.
That which we call sin in others is experiment for us.
Politicians, like bombers, seldom see their victims.
It ain't so much what a man doesn't know that causes him so many problems, but what he knows that ain't so.
Look not to the politicians; look to yourselves.
I'm a libertarian. It's a terrible word.
There's never been a good government.
We are going to tax and tax, spend and spend, elect and elect.

I have been a libertarian in my past but now I consider myself a classical liberal.
Thou shall not steal, even by majority vote.

There isn't much point arguing about the word "libertarian. " It would make about as much sense to argue with an unreconstructed Stalinist about the word "democracy" - recall that they called what they'd constructed "peoples' democracies. " The weird offshoot of ultra-right individualist anarchism that is called "libertarian" here happens to amount to advocacy of perhaps the worst kind of imaginable tyranny, namely unaccountable private tyranny. If they want to call that "libertarian," fine; after all, Stalin called his system "democratic. " But why bother arguing about it?
Sometimes just being still is the best thing you can do for yourself.
I am so old that I can remember when liberals were liberal - instead of being intolerant of anything and anybody that is not politically correct.
I feel that if people investigate the emergence of government, of State power - if they examine the logic of State power historically, and more specifically in the United States - they will find that the concept of limited government is not tenable once they adopt some type of libertarian principle.
The power to tax is the power to destroy.
