The sun sets in the west (just about everyone knows that), but Sunset Towers faced east. Strange!
Even today, I am still very child-like while designing. It's a bit like Christmas - each of your designs you create is like unravelling your presents.
Be completely true to yourself and you'll be happy.
For me there ain't no high heel high enough.
If the height of the heel is the same as the length of your foot, it starts to look wrong. And if the heel is positioned badly on the sole, you get into ballerina territory, where the body is pushed into a very strange posture. You can exaggerate the arch only so much.
A shoe is not only a design, but it's a part of your body language, the way you walk. The way you're going to move is quite dictated by your shoes.
I wanted to create something that broke rules and made women feel confident and empowered.
More and more as we come closer and closer in touch with nature and its teachings are we able to see the Divine and are therefore fitted to interpret correctly the various languages spoken by all forms of nature about us.
Geometry is moribund. I want a lilt and joy to art.
The difference between a brave man and a coward is a coward thinks twice before jumping in the cage with a lion. The brave man doesn't know what a lion is. He just thinks he does.
For me, it's never been an ego situation where I have been "I'm the boss; expletive you. " It's always been a situation where someone comes to me and says "I can't tolerate working with you anymore" and I would admit sometimes I wouldn't blame them for that. But I also sometimes think I'm not that difficult to figure out. I don't really know what has driven people to be so angry and bitter - people like my old keyboard player Pogo, who I've known for such a long time. I feel bad for him, but there are grievances with everything.
