The most dangerous place is in your safety zone.
If you're cooking and not making mistakes, you're not playing outside your safety zone. I don't expect it all to be good. I have fat dogs because I scrap that stuff out the back door.
Each and every one of us will be confronted by a major challenge in our lives. . . We can choose to shut down, retreat into our safety zone and not participate in life, or we can decide to learn from the experience and make a difference to the lives of those around us.
We all need to get out of our safety zones too. In addition to voting, we need to embarrass people who don't do the right thing. It's going to take citizen action.
We must pay attention to the voice that calls us out of the safety zone.
To be fair, on a good project, no matter whether it's improvised or scripted or meticulously prepared, or all up for grabs, it's always, always beyond the safety zone. Every project becomes interesting and exciting once you move beyond that routine. You always aspire to that. It's not that this improvisational mode is the only mode that facilitates that.
