I don’t want to do a cocktail party. I’d rather people left my shows and vomited.
Any time you do a project you never really know how people are going to take it especially on TV. I think they used to be more forgiving with shows.
I was always told from the hat-makers that you should have your hair up because it shows the hat more. It feels more 'done' when your hair is up.
And this shows that sometimes people want to be stupid and they do not want to know the truth.
I watch cartoons the way most adults watch reality-TV shows.
The light always shows on the outside if you are striving to be good on the inside.
We feel an affinity with a certain thinker because we agree with him; or because he shows us what we were already thinking; or because he shows us in a more articulate form what we were already thinking; or because he shows us what we were on the point of thinking; or what we would sooner or later have thought; or what we would have thought much later if we hadn’t read it now; or what we would have been likely to think but never would have thought if we hadn’t read it now; or what we would have liked to think but never would have thought if we hadn’t read it now.
I learn the whole script before I show up.
I still feel like we're the underdogs, but I feel like people respect us now. People might not like our band or love our music, but I think people respect the fact that we've been doing this for many years and are still doing it and still able to play three giant New York City shows and have people come out.
I am a great believer that what makes our show different is the humor.
I've been compared to hundreds of artists, which just goes to show you that I'm not any one thing at all.
If you are discouraged it is a sign of pride because it shows you trust in your own power. Your self-sufficiency, your selfishness and your intellectual pride will inhibit His coming to live in your heart because God cannot fill what is already full. It is as simple as that.
I don't ban bloggers from my shows. I have a separate line: VIP seating for bloggers.

I want to continue to produce shows that directly effect change.
When you show up at a rally supporting a bill, you are supporting the bill.
I just remember standing there, singing with the headphones on and the strings playing, just how wonderful that felt. But we so rarely got to go out and do it. Obviously, we don't carry a 70-80-piece orchestra with us when we do shows.
But where there is no art show, I would still be painting.
I consider myself one of the luckiest people in the history of show business.
