To really be known and really let someone else be known is very vulnerable. It's a weird thing. Just being an actress in Hollywood is very vulnerable. To let all these other people decide whether you're really of value or not, you have to really be strong to know that, of course, they have a right to their opinion, but their opinion doesn't matter as far as yourself.
My mom, Irmelin, taught me the value of life. Her own life was saved by my grandmother during World War II.
I am someone who places great value on the detail. That was always the case, even in my days as a racing driver.
This does not mean that every copyright must prove its value initially. That would be a far too cumbersome system of control. But it does mean that every system or category of copyright or patent should prove its worth.
What the customer buys and considers value is never a product. It is always utility, that is, what a product or a service does for the customer.
Apology is the practice of extending ourselves because we value the relationship more than we value the need to be right.
Remember always that the ultimate value is meditation, so anything you do, do meditatively; and all things can be done in a meditative way.
It's true that the biggest value of life is that it's going to stop. I was thinking when I was in New York the last time that all that we see that has importance is man-made. It isn't nature-made. And when I was looking through the window, looking at New York, I was so moved by humanity's desire for immortality-because that's what it is.
The value of a work of art cannot ultimately turn on the more or less of its subservience to ideology; for painting can be grandly subservient to the half-truths of the moment, doggedly servile, and yet be no less intense.
Value investing is risk aversion.
I don't know about you, but I've saved cards that old high school flames wrote me as well as those that employees have written me over the years. The power of genuine, customized appreciation will never lose its value, even in a gloomy economy. . . in fact, it's probably what we're all thirsty for in this desert of a depression.
The new is not a fashion, it is a value.
I do see value in music criticism. Most of the criticism I have received over the years has been very good.

We define ourselves, in part, by the discriminations we make. The value of what we love is enriched by our understanding of what we dislike.
The value of a relationship is in direct proportion to the time that you invest in the relationship.
In the world everything is as it is and happens as it does happen. In it, there is no value, - and if there were, it would be of no value.
The greater the value of what we want, the greater the sacrifice we will have to make.
We place the highest value on actual implementation and taking action. There are many things one doesn’t understand and therefore, we ask them why don’t you just go ahead and take action, try to do something? You realize how little you know and you face your own failures and you simply can correct those failures and redo it again and at the second trial you realize another mistake or another thing you didn’t like so you can redo it once again. So by constant improvement, or, should I say, the improvement based upon action, one can rise to the higher level of practice and knowledge.
Personally making a film solely for the shock value serves no purpose to me.
